The Ninja's Secret Identity

Today I'm participating in the Cheers, Alex J. Cavanaugh blogfest, hosted by Mark, Stephen, David, and Morgan. The mission:

Ever attended a Christmas party where you bump into the person who was always there for you during the last year? You'd thank them for being such a RockStar, right?

If there's one person in the Blogosphere who you want to say cheers to, who would it be?

For us, it was a no-brainer. Alex "no hyperlink needed" Cavanaugh.

But rather than answer the four questions put forth by the hosts concerning the enigma known as Alex J. Cavanaugh, I am compelled to respond to this blogfest with a much more direct question of my own. You see, there's something I've long suspected about Alex...

I have pretty fast fingers on the keyboard. I click on blogs and comment my little heart out with the best of them, but Alex is always one step ahead of me! I get to a blog, and BAM! he's already been there. He moves like a ninja through the blogosphere, reading, commenting, sometimes hitting a hundred blogs in thirty minutes flat on IWSG days. It's uncanny.

And yet such quickness is NOT unheard of...

There is one other in our world who moves with such stealth through the night, hitting hundreds of sites in mere minutes. If my suspicions are correct, they may actually prove to be one and the same person. So my question to you, Alex, is:

Why have you and Santa never been seen in the same room at the same time together??!!?? Hmmm????

I think the guitar gave it away. Cheers, Santa Alex. And by the way, I've got a wish list about an arm's length long we need to discuss before the 25th. :)

    4. *snort* I think there might be a new novel coming from you titled, "The Ninja's Secret."

  4. kmckendry - I have a very suspicious mind. :P

Dezzy - He is a master at the keyboard.

    Karen - Am I wrong? I don't think so.

    mshatch - It's a very rare superpower. Can't be a coincidence.

    Tonja - Am I right?

  5. And that explains the saucer dishes - those are the ones NORAD uses to track him on Christmas night! The clues were there all along.

  6. Julie - Hmmm, I'm trying to think now if I've been naughty or nice on his blog. Could make a difference come Christmas morning. :P

MC - OMG, you're right! *head slap* I should have seen the evidence years ago. :)

  8. I'm starting the rumor right now, LG. He's not real. He's a computer program created to write fiction and comment on blogs. He began as Alex.Zero-2300, and his creators lost control. Now he lives online ... :-D

  9. lol, genius! You're so right. Hey Alex, I have a few wishes of my own ;)

  10. Yvonne - Just like Santa he travels the world in minutes!!! It's a rare super power.

E.J. - Ha! Just like in Neuromancer or The Matrix? Hadn't thought of that, but you may be right? No one has ever seen what he looks like for real. He could be just a program, a collection of data. That's kind of...go write it right now!

    J. A. - We'll refrain from sitting on his lap, though. I don't think his wife would like that. :P

  13. YES!! Yes! I knew it! Alex IS Santa. And you've caught him guitar-handed. ;)

  14. Oh Did you draw these pictures? They're awesome. And I love the Christmas theme to them.

  15. Always knew there was a reason why Alex seems to be everywhere all at once around the blogosphere.

  16. Susan - He's the Ninja Claus. :P

Donna - He does leave little comments in all of our blog stockings all year. :)

    Nicki - Guitar-handed. Ha! You're right.

Michael - No, no, no. If I drew pictures they would be little stick figures. Those are just some generic clip art I found that suited my purposes today. :D

Melissa - It's scary how fast he flies through the blogosphere!! I think his computer must be nicknamed Rudolf. :PP

  20. HAHAHAHAHA! That was too funny! Hmm. Santa and Alex, one and the same? Could be.

  21. Mark - What's even more amazing is if you look at that picture of Alex the Ninja he only has four fingers!!! How does he do it??? LOL.

RaShelle - Yeah, we're having fun at his expense today, but it's only cuz we love him.

Nancy - He leaves himself open to this sort of speculation. Really, I've been all over the blogosphere today and he's beaten me again!!! He's covered thousands of miles in just a few hours. Uncanny. :P

  22. Okay, so Alex may not be Santa, but he could be one of Santa's elves!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Loved the Santa spin on his identity. And the elves would explain how he can do it all. :o)

    ReplyDelete
  24. you will beat him...just believe!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  25. Emily - You'll notice he didn't deny it!!!

M.L. - Yes, he has started using elves as helpers for the IWSG. His little holiday minions, spreading joy and appreciation through comments.

Tammy - Grrrr. It happens so rarely, but every now and then I pull a Ninja stealth move on him and get to a blog first. Must be during his bathroom breaks. :P

  26. That so explains everything!! Great deducing skills, LG.

  27. LOL! Luanne, you are too funny. I love it.

And so happy to be connected now---you have an awesome blog!

  32. Tyrean - Yes, that's a great way to think of it -- dropping gifts of encouragement down the blog chimney. :D

Lynda - I know! Can you believe there's clip art showing a Ninja sitting at a computer? It's like it was made for this blogfest. :))

  33. Santa Alex does know all, and never seems to run into blogging traffic, or run out of good cheer! Adorable pics too!

  34. YES, Luanne - Alex is the Santa Claus of the Blogosphere! Does he come down the chimmey on Christmas Eve? I bet he does with Santa Claus. But we don't get to see him - darn it! I love Alex, like everyone does.

I think Alex has some magic powers or something. Or God has sent him to do this for US -- to swish through a million blogs in a second! I don't know, but he is DEFINITELY a Ninja.

I have no proof, so don't ask me. I just adore him! Cheers to Alex Cavanaugh! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Haha - it DOES make perfect sense. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Livia - He's definitely got some extra blogging mojo on his side. Don't know how he reads and comments as fast as he does.

Nicole - It's pretty much a proven theory at this point. The two just have too much in common. :)

  37. Someone else suggested Santa Alex, but yet he says he's fit, and Santa usually isn't. Maybe he'd like to be Santa. At least Santa has a personal-flying-vehicle. (maybe not a Cosbolt, I agree)

  38. Hi Luanne .. I love your take and those images - the last one particularly .. is a fine specimen!! with a great twinkle in his eye ..

Still so secret an identity .. fun to read - cheers Hilary

  39. D.G. - See! I'm not the only one with my suspicions! Besides, he's a ninja. All that black can really hide a Santa belly. :PP

Hilary - I'm sure Alex owns a green Christmas guitar just like that one. :)

Elsie - Excellent! I mean, who wouldn't follow Santa two weeks before Christmas?!?

    1. Not just that, Luanne, but you got me doing so much thinking as of late - I am putting my writing back in the forefront where it belongs. I'm exercising my writing skills at my new blog and figured I would follow writers and just, well, write. No better way to hone those skills than to just do it, right? It may be crap on some days, but on others it may be pure gold covered crap =)

      Thank you.

PS - After the holidays, you'll be hearing from about a Dedication Post on that blog. =)
